Course Description
Steady, uniform, and nonuniform flow in natural and artificial open chennels, unsteady flow; interaction of flow with river structures; computational methods. Recommended: CE 313.
Course Objectives
The student, upon completion of this course, should be able to:
- Recognize river and stream systems as natural, integrated morphological systems.
- Understand the fluvial processes that go towards forming a stable, equilibrium channel system.
- Be able to design lined (i.e. engineered) channels and channel structures .
- Be able to design and analyze unlined (i.e. natural) channels and channels structures.
