Course Description
Data sources (web-based and experimental databases) and analysis of large data sets from sensor systems used to measure various components of the hydrologic cycle. Data sets will typically have hundreds to thousands of multi-column data records. Course will focus on data quality control, data analysis techniques, presentation of results. Emphasis will be on spreadsheet analysis rather than computer programming, but programming examples will be demonstrated.
Course Objectives
The student, upon completion of this course, should be able to:
- perform quality control and analyze the following types of data:
- Solar and Terrestrial Radiation Data Analysis
- Spatially Distributed Precipitation Data Analysis
- Snow Course Data Analysis
- Bowen Ratio Station Energy Balance Data Analysis
- Eddy Correlation Station Energy Balance Data Analysis
- Soil Water Content Data Analysis
- Infiltrometer Data Analysis
