Course Objectives
The student, upon completion of this course, should be able to:
- calculate crop water requirements and determine required irrigation system capacity
- determine allowable irrigation intervals
- estimate economically optimal levels of water use
- understand application uniformity and irrigation adequacy and their relationship to irrigation efficiency
- develop preliminary designs for standard irrigation systems
- understand operation of pumps and motors
- utilize the principles and technology of scientific irrigation scheduling
