Oregon Water Policy and Law
Course Organization
This course is organized as a seminar. The first four hours (two initial meetings) will take the form of lead discussions by Ms Achterman and Ms Reeves which cover the basics of water law and policy development. The next five hours of the course (two and a half sessions) will be facilitated student discussions of four recent water policy decisions. These sessions will require students to read approximately 20 pages of formal policy documents for each hour of discussion. These sessions will be led by the State Agency case workers who were instrumental in developing the policy documents. The final hour of the class will be a synthesis discussion. Dr. Selker will coordinate the logistics of the class and assist in moderating discussions.
