At Oregon State, we define Ecological Engineering as:

The design of sustainable systems in concert and consistent with ecological principles that integrate human activities with the natural environment for the benefit of both.

We are in the process of creating an undergraduate program leading to an accredited degree program in Ecological Engineering. This innovative program will prepare students for careers in ecosystem restoration, water resource engineering, and ecosystem forensics.
